Desert Sports Sunday Morning MTB Ride

Sunday, the weekly Desert Sports mountain bike ride, attended by anywhere from 2-15 people with ride length options depending on who shows. This past week we had about a dozen show up for a ride ’round the neighbourhood. We rode the Miracle Mile, the Bonus Miles then dirt roads to Jeff and Becca’s where we ripped around the trails he’s built. Fun times!  After a couple of howdy’s, we continued on, the group eventually splitting; six of us did the Sawmill loop in reverse while the rest returned home.

After a warm, fun day of riding and hanging out in the desert, I made my way to the Terlingua Ghosttown porch for a drink with my pal Larry.  After what may have been a few too many, I rode my Cannondale home. Well, I tried at least.

I was swerving all over the dirt road and crashed, injuring my left shoulder. Nothing is broken, but it’s sore, sleeping kinda sucks and I’m certainly taking some time off the bike. Sure hope this thing feels better in time for my birthday bike ride on the 12th.  Time will tell.
