Road Trip Ride 1; Phil’s World

Sunday evening we arrived in Pagosa Springs, CO where we stayed the night, driving through Durango Monday morning on our way to Cortez.  Two miles east of town, near the shooting range, is Phil’s World, one of the most renowned mountain-bike destinations in Colorado.  A little tough to spot from the road, this unassuming parking-lot would launch us into a 32 kilometre long pump-track.  Seriously.

Though it is called Phil’s World, it could easily be known as Fun Land.  All single-track, all up and down, all good times.  And, in all honesty, that really was some of the most enjoyable–though not taxing–riding I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

In Particular, “The Rib-Cage”, on the way back to the van was remarkable; being shot up into the air, diving down the other side, just to do it again and again.
