Leaving Death Valley, we drove north, back into Nevada arriving in Reno late Tuesday afternoon. Staying with friends of Reilly’s, Jim and Jen, we all went out for dinner to a local Thai restaurant[very good] then early to bed.
Wednesday morning, our hosts at work, we did some laundry before heading out for gas and groceries. With only the briefest of explorations to go on, it certainly seemed like Reno is Las Vegas’s little brother. Things just seemed, well, a little second rate, rather hand-me-down. The university campus was quite nice however and, from what we were told, there is SO much outdoors to enjoy; white water, trails and mountains abound. We, however, were heading west, into the mountains and towards the pacific coast.
