Peru; Gear List

ReadytoRoll3 ReadytoRoll2 ReadytoRoll1

Friday was packing day.  After a hearty breakfast, Kimberly, Reilly and I laid out all our gear on large tarps in the back-yard.  Everything was on display as we sorted out our gear for the upcoming bike-packing adventure to Peru.  We went through everything, identifying needless doubles and items to be purchased.  First aid, tools & spare parts, camping/cooking equipment; clothing we left up to personal choice, but we discussed preferences and experiences for optimizing our equipment.  Once done, the bags were attached to the bikes and packed full of all that gear, ensuring that we each had space left to carry food.  It was a really fun morning going through it all.  It also made the impending trip feel that much more real.

Most of the bags I’m using, particularly the custom-made handle-bar bag and frame bag come from the good people at Oveja Negra Threadworks, just up the road in Leadville, Colorado.  A big shout-out to Monty and Lane, you guys rocks!

As is common-place amongst the bike-packing community, below is a detailed list of all that Isabelle and I will be carrying for the next six weeks.
