Just one week left till Paul’s Dirty Enduro!

This killer mountain-bike race–there are 100km, 60km, 30km, 15km options as well as a kids race–is such a fun, laid-back event for all; participants, organizers and volunteers alike.  Okay, maybe not so laid-back for the organizers.  But Kt and Rick have been doin’ this for 17 years now, so they really know how to put on a truly memorable mountain bike spectacle in the woods.

Last year I raced the 60km event and missed the podium by about 90 seconds.  The year before I took about 8.5hrs to finish the 100km event; the first time I entered, I only finished 92kms!  This year, however, my goal is 7.5hours for the 100kms.  A hearty feat, no doubt, but one I feel confident I can attain.  So long as I keep to my game plan and conserve early, I should do okay.

Paul’s Dirty Enduro offers great cycling and a great time.  It is also a fundraiser for the Canadian Mental Health Association with pledges raised by racers going towards suicide prevention programs.  In fact, the event is named after Paul Rush, a dear friend of Kt and Rick’s who adored riding in the Ganaraska Forest.
